Forth Explorer

Forth Explorer is a 6.4m Ribcraft Pro, powered by a 150hp fly by wire Suzuki Engine.  She was built for training and her layout is carefully considered to ensure that she is safe and enjoyable to handle, with individual seating and handholds for every person on board.  She carries up to date safety kit and, as well as  excellent Raymarine navigation and communication equipment.

Forth Explorer is coded to Category 3 Restricted for 6 people, which allows her to travel 20 miles from a safe haven during the day time, and to operate at night closer to home.  Generally all Advanced powerboat training will take place in her, as well as Instructor and commercial training.  Boat club members will also be able to use Forth Explorer to take friends and family out on the water and she is available for bareboat charter.

She is the fastest boat in the fleet, and can reach 40 knots in most conditions, so hold onto your hats!

Forth Ranger

Forth Ranger will be the newest addition to our fleet, and is currently in build by the manufacturer, Ribcraft.  She is a totally unique boat, and no expense has been spared at any stage of her construction and fit out.

Forth Ranger is a Ribcraft 7.8m Professional and will be powered by a Suzuki 250 hp engine, enabling her to hit 35-40 knots in calm conditions.  She has a bespoke Micro Cabin, which will protect the passengers from the elements, but retain the exhilaration of an open boat.

She is also being fitted with 8 Ullman suspension seats which are designed to protect the passengers and crew from the effects of impact when travelling at speed through rough water. It is rare to find this number of suspension seats on a passenger boat and they more often seen police and military vessels.

Forth Ranger will unashamedly will be the safest, most comfortable, and most technologically advanced boat in its class when it arrives in March 2021.  She will be used for advanced training and passenger trips, so book your spot now!

Forth Adventurer

Forth Adventurer is scheduled for delivery in March 2021, and is currently in build at the Jeanneau factory in Vendee, France.  She is a brand new model 695 Series 2, and has been purchased to be the dedicated Edinburgh Boat Club vessel, for members use.

Forth Adventurer will be powered by a Suzuki 150 hp engine, enabling her to hit 30 knots in calm conditions.  She has a cabin with heating to offer protection from the elements, a marine toilet to extend passage duration, and two double berths for weekend cruising.  She is perfect for short passage making, and also makes a great platform for fishing, sunbathing and comes complete with roof mounted Stand Up Paddleboard racks.

Members will benefit from training courses which can be delivered onboard, as well as all MCA required safety equipment for up to 6 people.  Forth Adventurer also has up to date Raymarine navigation equipment and members will be given training in passage planning and boat manoeuvres.


Pegasus is a 2018 5.8m Ribcraft Professional powered by an 80hp Suzuki engine.  Pegasus has been built by Ribcraft to the highest standards, and the hull has been tried and tested by training centres and rescue operators all over the world.

Pegasus is predominately used for Youth Powerboat training and events, and benefits from luxurious baystar hydraulic steering, a large Raymarine chart plotter, and huge rear deck space.
